Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap are gearing up for their upcoming film AK Vs AK. The film is helmed by director Vikramaditya Motwane. The story of the film revolves around a brash film director, played by Kashyap, who kidnaps the daughter of a movie star, essayed by Anil Kapoor. The plot focuses on how the filmmaker shoots the desperate search of the actor for his daughter in real-time for his next film. Now, on Twitter, Kapoor and Kashyap spar to promote their upcoming film AK vs AK. The actor-filmmaker duo leaves netizens scratching heads with their war of words on social media.

The banter started with Anil Kapoor congratulating the cast and crew of Netflix’s Delhi Crime for winning the International Emmys. The actor tagged his Dil Dhadakne Do co-star Shefali Shah and said that it is great to see actors from India getting ‘international recognition’. He was also alluding to the Oscar victory of his film Slumdog Millionaire. Kapoor made the tweet with the hashtag, #WelcometoHollywood.

Reacting to the tweet, Anurag Kashyap replied, “Nice to see some deserving people get international recognition. Waise, aapka Oscar kidhar hain? No? Achha... nomination?" As the banter does not end here, Anurag Kashyap replied, “Says the k-k-k-ing of hand-me-down films. Weren’t you the second choice for this film also?" The filmmaker referred to Shah Rukh Khan being the first choice for Kapoor's role in the Oscar winning movie. Replying to that, Anil Kapoor wrote, “Hand-me-down or pick-me-up: I don’t care. Work is work. Tumhare jaise kaam dhoondte waqt baal toh nahi nochne padte". To which, Anurag Kashyap tweeted, “Sir, you don’t talk about hair. Aapko toh apne baal ke dum pe roles milte hain. #BaalBaalBaloo #TheJungleLife.” Moving on, Anil Kapoor told Kashyap that he needs serious skills to have a career like him and wrote hashtag #TheRealAK, tweeting, “Beta, you need serious skills to have a career like mine. Aise hi nahi chal rahi humari gaadi 40 saal se. #TheRealAK.”  Also Read: Taapsee Pannu Pokes Fun At Anurag Kashyap For ‘Acting’ In Netflix’s Upcoming Release AK Vs AK, Filmmaker Has An Interesting Reply

Kuch ko khatara bhi kehte hain. #retirementcalling.” Replying to Kashyap, Anil Kapoor tweeted, “Abe meri gaadi 40 saal chali toh chali, teri toh abhi tak garage se hi nahi nikli hai.” Finally, Kashyap tweeted, “Agar gaadi Race 3 ki ho toh it’s better that it stays in the garage only. #havemercy.” Anil Kapoor then went on to remind Kashyap of Bombay Velvet that flopped at the box-office and mentioned how Race 3 still managed to make Rs 300 crore at the box-office. Kapoor tweeted, "#neverforget Bombay velvet Box Office Returns = 43 Crores Race 3 Box Office Returns = 300 Crores." Trying to end the banter, Kashyap shared a picture of Kapoor wearing a baby hat and wrote, "Theek hai sir #Goodbye #DontCry." After Anurag Kashyap’s this tweet, Anil Kapoor did not reply.
